1. There are about 300 water bodies, all own by the state fisheries and irrigation departments in the Washim district. Departments auction these water bodies to people for fish culture. But due to lack of information available to local people, those rich people who have access to information are benefitted. We have invited information about these water bodies from government department using Right to Information Act of government of India. Data entered in the relational data base management system prepared by us in the MS access. However, there is need to work more on this database.
2. Regular study group meetings are going on with the villagers in various villages.
3. Sampling of the fishes has been done. The checklist of fishes of Adan River is now reached to 45 species.
4. Exposure visit of study group member has been arranged on 18th and 19th February 2009 at Sevagram, Wardha (Mahatma Gandhi’s Ashram).
